A Delta Air Lines plane caught fire before its take off at the Orlando International Airport on Monday, forcing the evacuation of passengers, airport officials said.
"Today at approximately 11:06 am, Delta Air Lines flight 1213 experienced an engine fire while at the ramp area, prior to departure. Passengers were evacuated. Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting team promptly responded. For inquiries, please contact Delta Air Lines directly," Orlando International Airport said on X.
Meanwhile, according to a statement from the airline, there were no reports of any injuries during the incident.
“Delta flight crews followed procedures to evacuate the passenger cabin when flames in the tailpipe of one of the aircraft’s two engines were observed,” the statement read.

"Maintenance teams will examine the aircraft in an effort to determine the cause of the fire," it added.
The Airbus A330 aircraft, which was to operate the flight, had 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants and two pilots
A recent spate of aviation disasters and close calls in the US has stoked fears about air travel, though flying remains a safe way to travel. On-the-ground accidents included a plane which crashed and flipped over upon landing in Toronto and a Japan Airlines plane which clipped a parked Delta plane at the Seattle airport. An American Airlines plane caught fire in Denver last month.
