The United States conducted precision airstrikes in Syria on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of 37 terrorist operatives, including senior leaders from ISIS and the Al Qaeda affiliate, Hurras al-Din.

The US Central Command ( CENTCOM ) reported that the two targeted strikes aimed to disrupt terrorist activities. "CENTCOM Forces conducted two targeted strikes in Syria, killing 37 terrorist operatives, including multiple senior leaders of the terrorist organisations of ISIS and Hurras al-Din, an Al Qaeda affiliate," the statement said.

The airstrikes are part of ongoing efforts to counter terrorist activities in the region. CENTCOM emphasized its mission to prevent attacks against civilians and military personnel.

"The airstrikes are part of CENTCOM's ongoing commitment, along with partners in the region, to disrupt and degrade efforts by terrorists to plan, organise, and conduct attacks against civilians and military personnel from the US, our allies, and our partners throughout the region and beyond," CENTCOM said.

These recent airstrikes follow a previous operation on September 24, which resulted in the death of nine terrorist operatives, including Marwan Bassam 'Abd-al-Ra'uf, a senior leader of Hurras al-Din. CENTCOM mentioned the significance of the strike against 'Abd-al-Ra'uf, who oversaw military operations.

Earlier, on September 16, CENTCOM forces carried out a large-scale airstrike on an ISIS training camp in central Syria, killing 28 ISIS operatives, including four senior leaders.

Gen Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of US Central Command, reaffirmed CENTCOM's dedication to combating these terrorist organisations.

"These strikes against leadership and operatives of ISIS and the Al Qaeda affiliate, Hurras al-Din, represent CENTCOM's commitment to the enduring defeat of terrorist organisations in the CENTCOM area of responsibility and our support to regional stability," he said.

CENTCOM confirmed that no civilian casualties resulted from these strikes.
