Tom Homan , appointed by US President Donald Trump to oversee his proposed mass deportation plan, warned the US that the country is at serious risk of a terrorist attack and said that he believed this will happen due to former US President Joe Biden ’s border and immigration policies.
Speaking on Fox News with host Sean Hannity, Homan said he is “convinced” a 9/11-style attack is coming, blaming the roughly 2 million “gotaway” migrants who crossed the southern border during the Biden administration but were never caught by Border Patrol.
“These 2 million known gotaways scares the hell out of me,” Homan said, expressing concern that some may be terrorists. “It’s coming,” he added, warning that unless they are located, a major attack is likely.
“Why did 2 million illegal aliens pay more to get away?” Homan asked. “They could have paid half of what they paid to cross the border, turn themselves into border patrol agents, get released that same day, get a free airline ticket to the city of their choice, get a free hotel room, get three meals a day, plus free medical care and work authorisation.”
He said the only explanation is that these individuals did not want to be fingerprinted or vetted. “It should have scared the hell out of every American what the Biden administration did,” he added.
He described the situation as “the biggest national security vulnerability this country’s ever seen” and warned the consequences of these policies will affect the US for the next decade.
His comments came a day after an Egyptian national, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, allegedly carried out an antisemitic terror attack in Boulder, Colorado.
Authorities say Soliman, who was in the US illegally after overstaying a work visa, injured 12 people using a homemade flamethrower and Molotov cocktails.
Soliman entered the US on a tourist visa in 2022, applied for asylum, and later received a work permit under the Biden administration. That visa expired in three months ago, leaving him without legal status.
“They’re handing out work visas like they’re candy,” he added about the Biden administration.
