A Fox News poll on Donald Trump rattled the president as the poll said Trump's approval rating is 11 points underwater which is the worst among all his most recent predecessors at this point in their presidencies. The poll said Trump's approval rating is at 44 per cent, down five points from the 49 per cent he had in March.
Former President George W. Bush had the highest rating among 21st-century presidents with 63 per cent approval, followed by former President Obama with 62 per cent and former President Biden with 54 per cent. Trump also had a rating 1 point higher at this point in his first term than his current one.
About 55 per cent of respondents said they disapproved of Trump's job performance. Nearly 60 per cent disapprove of Trump’s handling of inflation and tariffs, while only a third say they approve. A 56 per cent majority also disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy in general, while 38 per cent approve.
“As we’ve moved from one administration to another and the Trump administration tries to find its footing, many still see our leaders as unresponsive to their main concerns,” Republican pollster Daron Shaw told Fox News. “Partisans have flipped, of course, so now it’s Democrats who are most worried, but many Independents and Republicans are also skeptical their economic fears are being addressed.”
'This pollster has gotten me and MAGA wrong for years'
Donald Trump reacted to the negative feedback and took it out on Daron Shaw. "This “pollster” has gotten me, and MAGA, wrong for years. Also, and while he’s at it, he should start making changes at the China Loving Wall Street Journal. It sucks!!!" Trump posted. The mention of Journal came as it announced its verdict in the Trump-China trade war and said China won this round.
"Rupert Murdoch has told me for years that he is going to get rid of his FoxNews, Trump Hating, Fake Pollster, but he has never done so," Trump said.
