Dubai deploys 63 new 'City Inspectors' to start work on food, sanitation, safety and compliance checks

Dubai Municipality has launched an ambitious and pioneering programme called the ‘ City Inspector ’ initiative. This marks the first time the city has introduced a certified and integrated inspection system aimed at unifying municipal regulatory processes across multiple sectors. The goal: to enhance compliance with existing laws, raise service quality, and boost community satisfaction by standardizing and streamlining inspections throughout the emirate.

Building a qualified workforce: The first phase
The initial phase of the City Inspector programme focused on training and certifying a group of 63 Emirati inspectors. These individuals are proficient in 14 distinct technical fields related to municipal inspection, including health and safety, food safety, construction, waste management, sanitation, sustainability, and public facility supervision.
