NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said that in ancient times, Indians travelled across the world with sadhbhavna (goodwill).
He added that Indians shared their culture and knowledge rather than seeking conquest or conversion.
“Our ancestors travelled from Mexico to Siberia and taught science and culture to the world. They did not convert anyone or conquer. We went with sadhbhavna (goodwill) and a message of unity,” he said.
Speaking at the launch of the Arya Yug Vishay Kosh encyclopedia, Bhagwat highlighted that while India was repeatedly invaded and looted, the last invaders targeted the minds of Indians.
“Many invaders came and looted us and made us slaves. The last ones to invade looted our minds. We forgot our strengths and what we can share with the world,” he added.
The RSS supremo also emphasised the continuing importance of spiritual and scientific knowledge in India.
“Spiritual knowledge is still flourishing. As descendants of Aryavrat, we possess science, weapons, strength, power, faith and knowledge,” he said.
