RAIPUR: Several students of Guru Ghasidas Central University in Chhattisgarh 's Bilaspur have alleged that a programme officer forced them to offer namaz on Eid at a recent NSS camp . The varsity has formed a three-member fact-finding panel to probe the allegation.
The students filed a complaint with the police, claiming they were made to perform namaz at the camp organised by the university in Shivtaraiin, 30km from Bilaspur, from March 26-April 1, 2024, in which around 159 students participated. Students blamed the camp's programme officer for the ' forced namaz ', alleging that when they protested, they were threatened that their certificates wouldn't be given.
"We've sought details from the varsity after which the next course of action will be taken," said Koni PS SHO Kewat.
