NEW DELHI: The Rouse Avenue on Monday granted interim bail to the CEO of Rau's IAS Study Circle CEO Abhishek Gupta and coordinator Deshpal Singh till December 7 in Delhi's coaching centre death case.

On July 27, three civil service aspirants drowned in the basement of the coaching center in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar. The three who died were Shreya Yadav (25) of Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni (25) of Telangana and Nevin Delvin (24) of Kerala. Students enrolled in various coaching institutes have been protesting since the incident, demanding improved safety measures, PTI reported.

The Principal District and Sessions Judge, Anju Bajaj Chandna, granted the accused persons relief on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh each, along with two sureties of the same amount.

Additionally, Judge Chandna instructed Gupta to deposit Rs 2.5 crore with the Red Cross Society by November 30. This decision was based on the lease agreement of the premises, which stated that Gupta, as the lessee and CEO of the institute, would be solely responsible for any loss, claim, or damages to any person or material.

The judge also observed that Gupta and Singh held the positions of CEO and coordinator, respectively, at Rau's IAS Study Circle and were in charge of its operations.

Earlier on September 13, High Court granted bail to four land owners and were directed to deposit Rs 5 crore to the Red Cross. Thereafter, a corpus was created.
