Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took a jibe on the Congress party during his visit to Maharashtra's Washim district , accusing the grand old party of fostering divisive politics and being run by a "gang of urban naxals ."

Addressing a public rally, Prime Minister alleged that Congress is intentionally pitting communities against each other to push its agenda of dividing the country.

He also linked the party to a major drug bust in Delhi, saying, "Drugs worth thousands of crores have been recovered. The main accused in this drug racket is a Congress leader. Congress wants to push the youth towards drugs and use that money to contest and win elections."

The Prime Minister's comments came as he launched several major initiatives in Washim, including projects related to the agricultural and animal husbandry sectors, worth around Rs 23,300 crore. Among these, he inaugurated 9,200 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) with a collective turnover of about Rs 1,300 crore, aimed at improving the livelihoods of farmers.

In his address, PM Modi also praised the Banjara community for its major contributions to nation-building, while emphasizing his government's continued efforts to support marginalized communities and bolster rural development.
