China’s foreign ministry on Monday parried questions on a possible meeting between PM Modi and President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Brics summit in Russia this week. “We will keep you posted if anything comes up,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian said. Both Modi and Xi are attending Brics summit in Kazan, which begins Tuesday. Ahead of the PM’s visit, Foreign secretary Vikram Misri said Monday that Indian and Chinese negotiators have reached an agreement on patrolling along the LAC in eastern Ladakh.
