After a season filled with intense scrutiny, a crushing Super Bowl loss, and swirling retirement rumors, Travis Kelce is hitting reset — and Taylor Swift is right there with him. The Kansas City Chiefs star tight end is reportedly planning to scale back his high-profile appearances with Swift in order to fully commit to what could be his final NFL season.

While the couple’s whirlwind romance captivated the world throughout 2024, Kelce’s performance on the field took a noticeable hit — prompting some fans, and even “Swifties,” to turn on him after the Chiefs’ 40–22 Super Bowl defeat to the Eagles.

Travis Kelce, who had a standout 2022 season with 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns, saw a significant drop in production last year, posting just 823 yards and three scores. Sources close to the couple say he attributes the dip to the intense media spotlight surrounding his relationship with Taylor Swift.

“Travis is going all in for this season and the only thing that could derail him would be injury,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Losing the Super Bowl was a major blow, as he wants to be someone that can have it all and one who can handle having it all.”

In response, Kelce is adopting a laser focus heading into the 2025 season — and Swift, despite being one of the most recognizable faces on the planet, is supporting the decision to tone things down. “[She and Kelce] don't have to be the center of attention anymore and are not going to be seen out and about as much as they have been,” the insider revealed. “Him and Taylor are going great, his outside football ventures are amazing.”

The couple’s decision comes after backlash from fans who criticized their pre–Super Bowl double date with Patrick and Brittany Mahomes at a posh New Orleans restaurant. Some believed the outing reflected a lack of focus, but it seems Kelce has heard the noise — and is responding accordingly.

“He wants to be the reason that the Chiefs return to the Super Bowl and hopefully win it again,” the source added. “If this ends up being his last season, as he is gearing towards, he wants to go all in, and Taylor is all about it.”
