After consideration of community feedback, NetEase Games is raising the minimum level requirement for ranked play in Marvel Rivals Season 2. New players need to reach Level 15 to unlock the Competitive game mode. Earlier, Level 10 players could queue up for ranked gameplay.

This was done to ensure new players develop sufficient game knowledge and skills to head into the more serious competitive game mode. Competitive games often require proper communication and teamwork to find success, and as such, removing under-leveled players from this game mode enhances the experience for everyone.

Marvel Rivals Season 2 will introduce the hero pick and ban system from the Gold 3 rank. Earlier, only Diamond-plus players were able to utilize this interesting system to get a fairer battleground. This was one of the most requested changes from the community regarding competitive play, and NetEase Games has listened, making everyone happy.

Starting from Marvel Rivals Season 2, teams that include players from the E ternity and One Above All ranks will only be able to duo queue for competitive matches. This is done to ensure that the best players in the game do not team up to roll over every other team in the game. Getting farmed by higher-level players is one of the biggest downsides of many competitive games. This is a step in the right direction as NetEase Games tries to address this issue in Marvel Rivals with this subtle change.

Rank Reset in Marvel Rivals Season 2

Marvel Rivals will trigger a rank reset at the start of Marvel Rivals Season 2 on April 11, 2025. Based on the current Marvel Rivals Season 1.5 standings, players’ ranks will drop by nine divisions. For instance, players who have attained Diamond 1 rank in Season 1.5 will drop to Silver 1 for a fresh new start. This is done every Season to ensure proper distribution of players across all ranks based on their skills and to promote fair play in all ranks.
