“I think that Dom has hurt me in a bigger way than Rey ever hurt me”: WWE Superstar Shares Insights on Her Troubled Relationship With the Mysterios

Rhea Ripley has established her position as one of the top female wrestlers and her storyline including Dominik and Rey Mysterio is particularly intriguing. Her relationships with the Mysterios add a rich layer of drama to her character. Initially, Ripley appeared as a mentor to Dominik guiding him to find his footing in the wrestling world.

However, the mentorship took a dramatic and complex turn. WWE legend and the father of Dominik Mysterio , Rey has been wary of Rhea and Dominik’s relationship. Their interactions often highlight the clash between a father’s concern and a rising star’s desire to break free and explore a darker side of wrestling. This created a rift in their father-son relationship, as Dominik began to question his own path and loyalties.

In a world where alliances can shift in a heartbeat, Rhea’s interactions with the Mysterios highlight her versatility as a performer. Recently, in an interview, she finally spilled the beans on her conflicting relationship with Rey Mysterio and the tensions between the father and son duo. Let’s shine some light on what she has to say.

Ripley Criticizes Dominik’s Treatment of Her

The tensions between Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, and Rey Mysterio are well-known to the fans. The recent appearance of Ripley on Casual Conversations has satiated the curiosity of the fans who have been fishing for more information about the equation between Ripley, Dominik, and Rey. Her opinions, as expected, turned out to be quite intriguing, especially given the drama that unfolded between the three.

From 2022 to 2023, Rhea and Dominik made Rey’s life quite difficult. They showed up uninvited at the Mysterio household and created all sorts of chaos. But now, things are different. Dominik has broken away from Rhea, choosing instead to team up with Liv Morgan after their recent match at SummerSlam . This shift begs the question: has Rhea’s view of Rey changed now that she’s no longer aligned with Dominik?

In the interview, Ripley made it clear that she’s not going to play the blame game, unlike Dominik. She spoke in detail about her frustration with being portrayed as a villain. She shared her opinion on Dominik and Rey’s relationship, particularly criticizing the latter for prioritizing Edge over his son. Speaking on the subject, she said,

“I’m not gonna be immature like Dom and contradict everything I’ve done in the past and said in the past what he has been doing in every single interview. He has been playing me out to be this bad guy, this villain in his life—which I wasn’t. I cared for him, and I loved him.

So I’m not gonna do that about this situation either. I’m gonna stand on everything I said back then. I do think that Dom had to get out of Rey’s shadow. I do believe that. Rey was picking Edge over his own son—a man who literally speared Dom in the middle of the ring, looked at him, went ‘uh,’ and then ran after Finn Bálor. That man did not care about Rey Mysterio’s son.

So why is Rey picking Edge over Dom? So I’m not gonna contradict myself and say that I do think Rey was in the right. Because I do think Rey was in the wrong. But at the same time, I think that Dom has hurt me in a bigger way than Rey ever hurt me. So he’s more in my good books than Dom is right now.”

Ripley’s comments reveal a layered understanding of the relationships at play, showcasing her strong personality and refusal to back down from her feelings. Rhea’s perspective is a refreshing take on the often chaotic world of wrestling, proving she’s not just a fierce competitor but also a keen observer of the drama surrounding her.
