Anupamaa actress Rupali Ganguly has taken a stance on social media amid the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Following a wave of unfollows from users, the actress took to the social media platform X to share her point of view.
In a tweet that has since gone viral, Rupali wrote, “Unfollowing me won't bring any betterment to your country. First, ask your government and army to stop terrorism against India, this will be the only way for the betterment of Pakistan. Your following or unfollowing may make a difference to an artist but not to an Indian. And I'm an Indian First. A Proud INDIAN. Jai Hind Jai Bharat.”
Her post came in the wake of India’s Operation Sindoor. Reacting to the operation, Rupali declared, “The era of silence is over! Terrorism will be answered with strength. Thanks to the strong leadership and brave hearts in uniform.”
Rupali also applauded the Indian government’s decision to ban Pakistani streaming content, stating, “Hats off to Modi Govt for banning Pak streaming content! In times of tension, we must protect our digital borders.”
Her tweets were also a direct rebuttal to actor Fawad Khan’s criticism of Operation Sindoor, in which he termed the Indian action as a “shameful attack.” Responding to his comment, Rupali shot back, “You working in Indian films was also 'shameful' for us."
