35-year-old dies by suicide; financial stress suspected

Bhopal: A 35-year-old man, an auto-rickshaw driver, died allegedly by suicide at his residence in the Ratibad area on Thursday evening. The deceased was found hanging. Police did not find any suicide note at the scene. Preliminary probe revealed that the victim, identified as Ranjit, bought an auto-rickshaw on loan but was unable to pay the monthly instalments. He was also reportedly under financial pressure due to debts owed to various individuals. It is suspected that financial stress may have driven him to take the step. He was estranged from his wife.TNN
