Kochi: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) held a closed-door meeting with representatives of various film bodies on Friday. The meeting was held in the backdrop of recent drug cases against those in the film industry.
According to sources, the meeting took place at the NCB office in Kendriya Bhavan in Kakkanad. It was reportedly aimed at assessing the situation and issuing guidelines. The central agency aims to prevent drug abuse at shooting locations and film-related events. NCB also considered suggestions from the attendees for effective monitoring of film shooting sites.
Sources said that the one-hour-long meeting on Friday evening was attended by a deputy director-level officer. Five representatives from major film organisations, including Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), Film Employees Federation of Kerala (Fefka), and the film producers' association, participated in the meeting.
