Kochi: Kerala high court has ordered that if the govt fails to decide on the resolution to enhance the retirement age of KSEB employees from 56 to 58 years by June 3, the additional chief secretary of the finance department shall appear before the court.
The bench of Justice D K Singh issued the order in response to a petition by the Kerala Power Board Officers Federation along with five KSEB officers. The petitioners had approached HC seeking a directive to the state govt to decide on the proposed enhancement of the retirement age of KSEB employees.
Earlier, the board had forwarded the resolution to the govt for examination by the expert committee constituted for this purpose. When the petition was considered on Feb 11, the govt had informed HC that a considered decision would be taken within two months regarding the enhancement of the retirement age of KSEB employees. However, the petitioners pointed out that no decision has been taken so far. It was in this context that the court issued the interim order.
