Australia allrounder Nathan McSweeney, who is all set to grab his Baggy Green at Perth on November 22, has said that while he is watching videos of India's bowling attack, it would be tough to emulate ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah's bowling action in practice and he is looking forward to facing him. He has already begun practising for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with a special focus on India's pace attack. Some impressive recent performances at the domestic level and for Australia A saw McSweeney included in Australia's 13-player team for the series opener in Perth. While McSweeney looked composed against India A while facing the new ball at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, being thrust into opening against Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj is an entirely different ball game.

“I’ll dive a lot deeper into it when I get to Perth, but I can't help myself. I've looked at a few clips of what they're bowling attack stacks up like," McSweeney said while speaking on SEN Whateley.“I’m just trying to visualise how I'm going to go about it. Facing a new bowler can be a slight challenge to just pick up their action," McSweeney added. The 25-year-old said that he still has a week to prepare before he flies to Perth and hence he can get mentally ready and is hoping for a good preparation ahead of the big Test. “But there’s probably not (much you can do to replicate how Bumrah bowls). He's got a unique action, he's one of the best bowlers in the world, so it's going to be hard to mimic that, that's for sure," McSweeney said, “I'm just looking forward to all of that and I can't wait," the youngster added. McSweeney was part of Australia's 2018 U19 World Cup team, which lost to Prithvi Shaw-led India in the finals. He scored 211 runs in four matches in that tournament, at a stunning average of 70.33.
