In 2001, Kennedy acknowledged to fighting with "lust demons" and indicated that the journals served as a tool for self-reflection and coping with his spiritual difficulties at the time, the report by the Post said. When challenged in 2014 with the existence of these journals, Kennedy first disputed their validity, reacting with several seconds of surprised silence before declaring that he did not have a 2001 diary and had no more comment.Kennedy's love life came back into the limelight this year, when accusations surfaced that he had been sexting writer Olivia Nuzzi, who had interviewed him for New York magazine in November 2023.
