Celina Jaitley has worked with superstar Govinda in three films. While none of them saw the light of day, the actress is still grateful for the experiences. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, she reacted to the shocking accidental shooting incident, wished Chichi a speedy recovery, and recalled her experiences collaborating with him. What was your reaction to Govinda shooting his leg accidentally?I was shocked to hear of the unfortunate accident. There’s a reason why guns should only be handled by security professionals. This accident is incredibly unfortunate and a big lesson to keep firearms away from homes. You have worked with Govinda more than once? Oh yes. In three films. And each a joy. Sadly, none of them was ever released. What! None of your films with Govinda got released? Can you believe it! Despite a 21-year age gap with him, working with Chichi (Govinda) was wonderful. I feel extremely lucky to have had worked with him on three projects all of which unfortunately got shelved. Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Showman, Aditya Dutt’s Chai Garam starring myself, Esha Deol and Chichi and Neeraj Vora’s Run Bhola Run starring myself, Ameesha (Patel), Chi Chi and Tusshar Kapoor. Why didn’t they release?I have no clue. But among all these projects Tigmanshu Sir’s was my most favourite. It had a blockbuster promise. It was hilarious but intelligent and I learnt so much from Tishu sir. How was Govinda as a co-star?Govinda guided me a lot and even predicted the year I would get married. He has a very good foresight. Your message to Govinda? Here's hoping for a speedy recovery and a quick return to the dance floor, this time without any unexpected "steps"!
