'Tis the season to buy a new telly, especially with Black Friday right around the corner. Plenty of retailers jump the gun when it comes to deals, so it's always a good idea to keep an early eye out if you're in the market for an upgrade on your home entertainment setup.

A great example, and an absolute bargain, is the , down from £429 at Amazon. It comes with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a Wi-Fi-connected TV, including access to dozens of streaming services, digital freeview, music players, and smart switching between devices.

The 4K resolution is a big upgrade for anyone who hasn't yet made the leap, offering crisp visuals and eye-popping colour quality. If you're into video games and play on the latest consoles, 4K ought to be a priority for getting the most out of the graphics. If not, you'll still benefit from a broad range of 4K broadcasts across sport, documentaries and dramas - once you see it for yourself, it's tough to go back.

From 23 ratings, it's got an average Amazon score of 3.9 out of 5 stars, with customers being particularly surprised by the TV's quality at its price point. "Brilliant TV. Picture and sound really good," said one five-star review. "I highly recommend. Price was excellent. Delivery guy really helpful. Can't think of anything negative to say."

"The TV is amazing!" said another happy customer. "I was confident with this purchase from all the reviews that I read and they are all spot on. The picture quality I'd fantastic and the sound is brilliant, in fact I actually think it sounds better and clearer than the Samsung TV it's replacing."

Another added: "I love how easy it is to set up and the screen quality. It has definitely met my high standards along with very affordable pricing."

There are a few complaints around sound and picture quality, particularly when compared with higher-end TVs. "Picture is great, but sound is pretty poor by itself," said one audiophile reviewer. "We added a soundbar, which I'd suggest is probably essential unless you really don't care about sound."

Another noted that the HDR settings, which should boost colour clarity, can be tricky to get right: "It has no full Dolby Vision capability, when I play Dolby vision with HDR via the USB port, the colour was normal, but when I played a Dolby Vision proper with no HDR, all the colours are wrong."
