Monday's edition of This Morning was paused for a delightful engagement revelation from presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley.
Halfway through the programme, normal broadcasting was suspended as Cat disclosed that a member of the This Morning crew had recently popped the question to their other half.
"At the end of last week, our lovely art director Matty got engaged to his partner of 10 years, Luke," Cat announced, as the camera swept to Matty.
Ben continued: "Matty got down on one knee whilst holidaying on a cruise ship. So, of course, there was only one person who could help him seal the deal..."
He proceeded to reveal particulars of the proposal, which took place on a cruise ship with assistance from renowned vocalist Jane McDonald, reports Wales Online.
A segment of Jane aired, with the performer seen stopping her performance to spot Matty in the audience and welcome him onto the platform, presenting him as "Matty from ITV".
"How long have you been together?" she enquired of Matty, as his boyfriend Luke accompanied the duo on stage. As he verified they'd been a couple for a decade, Jane then suggested towards matrimony.
"10 years! I think it's about time you did something about it, don't you?" Jane urged, with Matty shortly dropping to one knee and asking his "best friend" to wed him.
Ben and Cat glowed as the footage revealed Luke accepting Matty's proposal, who then verified he'd been orchestrating the engagement for numerous months, having initially contacted Jane in December 2024 whilst she was publicising a Pantomime.
"Congratulations. What a lovely way to start the week!" Ben exclaimed. "And, thank you to Jane as well!"
Jane has extensively performed aboard cruise ships and has also produced television programmes centred on cruising, including the award-winning Cruising with Jane McDonald.
Monday's edition of This Morning also featured a chat with former TOWIE star Pete Wicks as he spilled the beans about his latest TV venture, alongside all the top winter skincare advice from beauty expert Nadine Baggott.
Meanwhile, Sian Welby delivered viewers the freshest entertainment updates, whilst Ben and Cat were accompanied by Alun Ebenezer, a headmaster whose rigorous school policies became a significant discussion point in recent months.
This Morning airs on weekdays on ITV1 at 10am.
