Strictly's Chris McCausland unrecognisable in major transformation as fans double take

enthusiasts were in for a surprise when they witnessed Chris McCausland's striking transformation on the programme.

The glamourous BBC One spectacle graced our screens once again on Saturday (October 5) for its highly-anticipated Movie Week extravaganza. The ever-charming Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were back in action to usher in the remaining celebrity contestants onto the dance floor.

Previously, Tom Dean and his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova were given their marching orders as the first duo to depart the show after a decisive dance-off against Toyah Wilcox and Neil Jones. Not to be deterred, this week saw the return of high-stepping hopefuls like JB Gill, Tasha Ghouri and Shayne Ward, each keen to dazzle with their dance moves.

The judging panel, composed of the insightful Shirley Ballas, the sharp-tongued Craig Revel Horwood, the vibrant Motsi Mabuse and the dashing Anton Du Beke, was ready to assess the night's performances. Embracing the Movie Week theme, renowned celebs transformed into legendary cinematic characters, kicking off the evening with the professionals' group number inspired by Despicable Me.

Yet it was Chris who truly captured everyones attention, morphing into a character from the cult classic Wayne's World. Teaming up with his partner Dianne Buswell, the pair unleashed an energetic jive to the iconic movie's soundtrack, reports .

Observant fans couldn't shake off how much Chris resembled music sensation Lewis Capaldi while performing, prompting a flurry of excited comments online. A user on X, previously known as Twitter, exclaimed: "Chris and Dianne were amazing."

Fans and viewers of Strictly Come Dancing were left utterly impressed by Chris's performance, with one viewer saying: "Honestly I'm so impressed with Chris here I've never seen a man who is blind that can dance it is actually brilliant.

"The costume is amazing. I didn't recognise Chris here he looks like Lewis Capaldi."

Others echoed the sentiment, with comments such as "That's what I said. Lewis Capaldi, 100%" and "When they sub in Lewis Capaldi on Strictly."

Compliments continued to pour in: "Chris looks like Lewis Capaldi in that wig. Well done fella! Brilliant!"

The judges shared this enthusiasm Craig Revel-Horwood described their showing as "packed full of fantastic rhythm." Chris, alongside his partner Dianne, earned an outstanding 30 scores from the judges following their lauded performance.
