pal has admitted that the newly-single broadcaster "can't be bothered" to find a new man after her split from
The former power couple announced their separation back in May this year after 14 years of marriage. Months later, the presenter started dating his new girlfriend and their former relationship therapist Katie Alexander.
Now, the presenter appears to have taken a break from dating as close friend offered an insight into her friendship with Ruth.
And Ruth isn't the only one dealing with heartache, after Vanessa split from her partner Ben Ofoedu last year after 16 years together.
In an interview with on Thursday (November 7), the broadcaster admitted that they "leave men out of it" when they go for a night out together.
During the launch of her new autobiography Vannessa Bares All, the LBC star was asked if Ruth was her new "wing woman".
She told the outlet: "I don't know if either of us can be bothered. We'd probably rather go out together and have a laugh and leave men out of it."
When the star - who appeared on last year's series of Celebs Go Dating - was quizzed about stepping back into the dating pool, she confessed: "Oh mate, God's sake, I don't know. I'm trying my best, just put it that way. I've tip-toed in the field and we'll see what happens."
Vanessa is understood to have supported Ruth in the wake of her split from Eamonn earlier this year, as reported by The Sun.
She told the outlet: "I completely respect her desire, quite rightly, to keep this as, you know, from her perspective, dignified, quiet and just deal with it on her own, privately.
"So, of course, she's my actual friend in real life. I've been in contact, but I certainly respect her and admire her dignity, and her silence over this, and that's really all I want to say about it."
Last year, Ruth had similarly expressed her support towards Vanessa following the news that her relationship with Ben had come to an end.
She praised her pal in a segment on Loose Women and said her heart was "breaking" for her. Ruth said on the ITV show: "Well, listen, Vanessa if you're watching - lots of love to you. I have to say, Vanessa's a friend of mine.
"My heart's breaking for her. It's hard enough when you go through a breakup, but when you have to do it so publicly ... I think she has taken ownership of this though. She's poured her heart out [on her] social media."
