
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a three-year-old girl. After receiving a report just after 11am on Wednesday morning, West Yorkshire Police went to a home on Austhorpe Court, in Leeds, and discovered the body of a three-year-old girl.
A woman at the address was taken to hospital for urgent medical attention, and is now in a stable condition, police said. She has since been arrested on suspicion of murder. Police say they are treating the death as an "isolated incident". West Yorkshire Police's detective chief inspector Stacey Atkinson said: "Sadly when emergency services attended at an address on Austhorpe Court, Leeds, yesterday the body of a 3-year-old girl was found inside.

"A woman at the address was taken to hospital for urgent medical attention and remains there today in a stable condition. She has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
"We are treating this as an isolated incident and are not seeking anyone else in connection with it.
"I understand that such a tragic incident as this will cause shockwaves in the local community and that there will be speculation about what has happened.
"I would ask people to please let us investigate and if you do have any information that you think could assist our enquiries to get in contact with the investigation team."

Drazen Priganica, who has lived in the area for seven years and works for a mental health charity, told YorkshireLive: "It's a terrible thing. My heart goes out to the little girl and the family. Jesus, a little girl. Three years old. It's no age."
Steve, who has lived in the area for 20 years, added: "Obviously, it's shocking. I don't know what to say, really. Nothing happens here, it's very quiet."
