A gardener has taken to TikTok to show off a 'genius gardening' hack involving just one bucket that can eliminate a lot of digging.

Gardeners will know that digging with your hands and arms can be painful especially if you're bending and crouching for long periods of time. Avid gardeners, who spend a lot of time getting their hands dirty, will know there are times when a hack can be most useful.

And now @dbhome_47, who has amassed over 40k followers on Tiktok for her handy gardening and DIY hacks, has come up with a handy method that stops you digging for hours and instead speeds up the planting process.

The TikToker who has "discovered the best gardening hack" placed a smaller bucket inside a large one and used it to help dig the soil out.

She then filled soil around the small bucket creating the perfect sized hole for your plant, changing the way many will plant in the future.

DB Home then easily placed the plant in the round hole and watered it, jokingly adding that she now "needs a hack to not make such a mess".

People quickly took to commenting on the video at their amazement.

@Paddy1999_ said: "This is brilliant, how have I never thought of that".

"Great tip, easy and effective. Thanks1", said The Garden Informer.

Whilst keen gardener @harrieth86 said: "It's new for me and I have been gardening for years - will try this, thank you".

To stop bin odour and keep it smelling fresh as possible DB suggests lining your bin with kitchen towels and add a touch of zoflora.

"I was taking the bin out the other day and I thought what is that smell and forgot I had done this. Makes such a differnce", said DB Home.

The smart idea was met fondly by viewers. @dozzawazza said: "Clever idea".
