Emmerdale viewers have realised something was askew with Liam Cavanagh (played by Jonny McPherson) in recent weeks as he seems to constantly require the bathroom. His embarrassment about the situation reached new heights when Claudette Anderson (Flo Wilson) found him urinating at the allotment. When an awkward Liam later called Claudette to the Woolpack's back room and explained he has been having trouble holding his bladder for long periods of time, she was convinced he was suffering from a serious health issue that needed to be looked into immediately.
Although he tried to shrug it off, she forcibly encouraged him to book an appointment to get it checked out. Now, spoilers released by ITV for upcoming episodes show that her instincts appear to be correct as he looks certain to receive a devastating diagnosis. In upcoming scenes, Claudette urges Liam to put off things in order to attend the appointment for his prostate exam, but instead, he makes her cancel it.

Undeterred, she continues to plead with him to get checked, but the Dales' resident GP ignores her and fails to rebook the appointment and promote his own health.
However, matters are taken out of his hands when Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) witnesses a desperate Liam relieving himself in his own consulting room hand basin. Realising something is seriously wrong, she forces him to face up to the truth that he has a potentially serious health issue.
Forced to face up to his fears, Liam finally acknowledges what his symptoms may indicate. He finally comes clean to fiancée Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), who is devastated to hear he fears a prostate cancer diagnosis.
If his prostate cancer fears are confirmed, could this spell the end for the character after over a decade in the Dales, having first arrived in 2014. Will he end up leaving the village to recover away from all the drama surrounding the area? Or in a worst-case scenario, could he leave in a coffin?
Elsewhere, it's been an explosive few weeks on the soap after John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) shot Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) with an arrow during a chase out in the woods.
The evil killer also flung himself and his husband, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), off a cliff to cover his tracks, and the pair have been in hospital since being rescued by emergency services. John admitted to Aaron that he had murdered before, but will he remember if he comes round from his coma?
As it stands, John's brother Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has been arrested on charges of attempted murder and has been proclaiming his innocence to police officers who have been interrogating him.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
