A has slammed the "haters" of the Alicante resort as he delivered a perfect response to those saying, "don't go to in 2025". The sunny seaside resort on Spain's eastern coast is a popular destination among British tourists.

Many have highly criticised the holiday hotspot, as several videos of mugging surfaced online. However, a social media user has slapped down people saying the holiday resort should be avoided. In a video shared on TikTok, the user called it a "fantastic place" and explained why Brits should still visit Benidorm.

Repeating some of the criticism of Benidorm he has seen, he said in the clip: "Do not go to Benidorm in 2025. You're going to get scammed, you're going to get mugged, you're going to get all your money stolen. You're also going to get your phone stolen.

"'You're going to go to bars and they are going to rip you off with extortionate prices for drinks. Restaurants are terribly expensive. If you are really lucky, you might get a good exchange rate but probably not, you are going to get ripped off'."

Calling all of it "rubbish", he said that everyone should visit Benidorm this year.

He explained: "This is all absolute rubbish. Do go to Benidorm in 2025! You won't regret it!

"The comments I've seen in the last couple of days are absolutely crazy, there's so many Benidorm haters out there, spreading all of these things about Benidorm that, just to clarify, happen everywhere in the world, not just Benidorm.

"Sometimes we need to look in our back garden, look at the state of the UK at the moment, most of these things happen in the UK on a daily basis, it's mad really, it happens everywhere guys. Yes, pickpocketing happens in Benidorm, of course it does, it happens everywhere.

"And no, the bars are not overpriced, there's a place in Benidorm where you can get a drink for as little as 1 euro, a pint for a euro, cheap meals, really good exchange rates, go to the indoor market, you can get some really good deals here. So guys, look, Benidorm is a fantastic place, do go to Benidorm, you won't regret it."

The clip attracted dozens of replies, dividing its viewers. While some maintained Benidorm "you have to have your wits about you" in the resort town, and that it is "unsafe", others praised it.

One supporter of Benidorm wrote: "We've just come back had a fantastic time not got ripped off once no phones stolen and did get a fabulous exchange rate in the indoor market. Take no notice of the Benidorm haters x"

Another said: "I love Benidorm, it's a brilliant place, really clean, beautiful sandy beaches, good entertainment, happy people, cheap drinks and loads of fun."

A third instead said: "I love Benidorm and still will go but yes some parts are bad and to many going missing and yes bouncers are terrible."

Benidorm remains one of Brits' most adored holiday hotspots in Spain.

Over the first six months of 2024, it recorded the highest percentage of drug trafficking arrests of any large Alicante province municipality, and also saw the highest percentage of home robberies.

Alicante province municipalities overall clocked up more than 40 times the number of drug cases compared to similar-sized towns in Spain - a number likely caused by the large-scale tourism in the area prone to attracting more criminals.
