Ant McPartlin's ex-wife Lisa Armstrong, 49, took to Instagram to make a stern and cryptic statement about her relationship status seven years after announcing her divorce from the iconic TV presenter. The former couple were together for 11 years before their high-profile relationship came to a shocking end in 2020, following claims that the Ant and Dec star's adultery had been grounds for the split. Six months after the announcement, Ant's new relationship with Anne-Marie Corbett became public and sparked major controversy, as she had worked as the couple's personal assistant.

In a brand new post, the make-up artist shared a statement on her social media page which was emblazoned against a scenic backdrop. The first upload read: "If she's been single for two... three, five years," the second continued: "She's not hard to love. She's hard to fool." Lisa's posts went on: "Intelligent women don't stay single because they are unworthy. They stay single because their standards are sacred.

"She doesn't chase attention. She watches patterns. She doesn't entertain chaos. She studies it and then walks away from it without apology."

Lisa went on: "She can't fake interest in surface talk. Or pretend to be impressed by a man who can't teach her anything new. If you can't meet her mind, you'll never touch her body. If you try to gaslight her, she'll burn the bridge and light a candle with it.

"She's not bitter. She's just learned to finally stop betraying herself in the name of love, and that kind of women, she's not lonely. She's free."

This comes after Ant praised his wife Anne-Marie as his "biggest fan and harshest critic."

After getting engaged on Christmas Eve in 2020, the couple tied the knot the following year and have since welcomed their first child together, a son named Wilder, in May 2024.

Ant is also a stepfather to Anne-Marie's two daughters, Daisy and Poppy, from her previous marriage to Scott Corbett.

The Britain's Got Talent host opened up about his wife at the Variety Showbusiness Awards, as he gushed: "A special mention has to go to our incredible management team, YM&U, formerly James Grant. They are so amazing, in fact, that they found us a couple of wives. How lovely is that?"

To which his co-host Declan Donnelly quipped: "Did they charge commission on that as well?"

He added: "The biggest thank you though do go to our wives, to Amzie and Ali for putting up with us, and for being our biggest fans and our harshest critics when needed."
