Sayaji started his acting career in Hindi films with 'Shool', before this film he has also done many Marathi plays and films.

Sayaji started participating in Marathi plays in the year 1978. However, he has worked very hard to participate in these plays. Sayaji grew up in a small village in Maharashtra, his father was a farmer. After some time, Sayaji left the village and started living in Satara city. In Satara, he studied Marathi. Along with studies, he also worked as a watchman, from which he used to get 165 rupees every month. During this time he met Sunil Kulkarni, who was a theater artist.

987. Sayaji's acting in this play attracted the attention of many people. After this, he gained a separate fan following in the field of theatre. After Marathi played, he reached Mumbai in search of more opportunities and did many theatre workshops there. Along with all this, he also completed his acting studies.

Along with doing theatre, he got his first Marathi film 'Aboli', his role in this film was highly appreciated and he also got the Best Actor award for it. After making his mark in Marathi films, he stepped into Hindi films. Sayaji got his first Hindi film 'Shool', in which he played the character of Bacchu Yadav, which was liked by the people very much. Sayaji has worked in Marathi, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, English, and Gujarati films.

However, after making a successful career in films, he is now ready to try his luck in politics as well. Sayaji has joined the NCP party led by Ajit Pawar in Maharashtra.
