Chor Panchak 2025: Avoid These Actions from October 31 to November 4 or Face Financial Losses

Send Push

In Hindu astrology, specific times are designated as auspicious (shubh) and inauspicious (ashubh) for performing important tasks. These timings are determined by studying the Panchang, which is made up of five elements — Tithi (date), Vaar (day), Nakshatra (constellation), Yoga, and Karan. Among these, there is a period known as Panchak, which is considered highly inauspicious for initiating major work.

This year, Chor Panchak will begin on Friday, October 31, 2025, and will end on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Astrologers advise great caution during this period, as it is believed to bring financial instability, theft, or business losses if one engages in certain activities.

What is Panchak and Why is it Considered Inauspicious?

According to astrology, the Panchak period occurs when the Moon transits the last part of Dhanishtha Nakshatra and passes through Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada, and Revati Nakshatras. This journey takes about five days. Hence, the time during which the Moon remains in these five Nakshatras is called Panchak Kaal.

Astrologers believe that performing important activities such as construction, financial transactions, or religious rituals during Panchak can lead to obstacles, failures, or inauspicious results.

Types of Panchak and What Makes ‘Chor Panchak’ Different

There are five types of Panchak, categorized based on the day they begin:

  • Rog Panchak – begins on Sunday

  • Raj Panchak – begins on Monday

  • Agni Panchak – begins on Tuesday

  • Chor Panchak – begins on Friday

  • Mrityu Panchak – begins on Saturday

Out of these, Chor Panchak, which begins on a Friday, is considered particularly inauspicious. The word “Chor” means thief, symbolizing potential loss or theft during this time.

Why is Chor Panchak Considered Dangerous?

Astrologers warn that the period of Chor Panchak increases the chances of financial loss, theft, deceit, and business failures. It is said that the cosmic alignment during this time weakens financial stability and brings negative influences. Therefore, experts recommend being extremely careful with money matters, investments, and travel during this period.

Things to Avoid During Chor Panchak
  • Avoid Traveling South: The southern direction is believed to be associated with Yama, the god of death. Traveling south during Chor Panchak is said to increase the risk of theft, accidents, or misfortune.

  • Avoid New Business or Major Deals: This is not a favorable time to start new business ventures, make large investments, or sign financial agreements. These actions may lead to loss of wealth or delays in success.

  • Do Not Collect Flammable Items: Gathering wood, grass, or other combustible materials during this time is considered inauspicious, as it may invite fire-related mishaps.

  • Avoid Construction Work: Building or repairing the roof of a house or making a new cot/bed during Panchak is believed to bring distress or financial problems to the household.

  • Postpone Auspicious Ceremonies: Activities like weddings, engagements, housewarmings, or major religious rituals should be avoided during this time. Even signing important contracts or making big personal decisions is discouraged.
