Actress Aneet Padda, who gained acclaim for her role in the 2025 blockbuster Saiyaara, has been making headlines regarding her next projects. Saiyaara became one of the biggest hits of the year, earning over ₹500 crore and receiving appreciation both in India and overseas, as well as on OTT platforms.
Recently, reports suggested that Aneet Padda would star in the upcoming horror-comedy Shakti Shalini, allegedly replacing Kiara Advani, who had previously delivered three blockbuster films. However, the makers have now clarified the situation.
Maddock Films Issues StatementMaddock Films released an official statement regarding Shakti Shalini:
"We respect the public's excitement surrounding our horror-comedy universe. However, we want to make it absolutely clear that everyone should ignore rumors regarding Maha Munjya and Shakti Shalini. No actress has been confirmed for the films at this time. We request the media not to spread misinformation and to wait for our official announcement."
The horror-comedy genre has seen a surge in popularity recently. Earlier, there were reports that Kiara Advani was being considered for the lead in Shakti Shalini and was even spotted at Maddock Films’ Mumbai office. Later, rumors emerged that Aneet Padda had been selected to replace Kiara.
With the official clarification, it is now clear that no casting decisions have been finalized, and the audience will have to wait for Maddock Films’ official announcements.
Fans are also eagerly awaiting updates on the sequel to Maha Munjya, which received widespread love worldwide.
