Strictly's Nick Knowles hints he's quitting show and admits there's 'a lot to think about'

Nick Knowles has hinted he's going to quit Strictly Come Dancing.

The telly star admits he's desperate to make a return to the programme but his future is in doubt after sustaining an injury. Taking to Instagram, the DIY SOS star said: "It's been an interesting few days, I can tell you that, I've had a lot to think about, I've seen a load of people, I've got a load of people trying to make everything work for me."

Nick added: "Feeling good, arm's in a sling still to make sure that it's rested when I'm not using it. But today I'm going to try and dance and see what my capabilities are. Luba is trying to prepare a dance that will work for me." He added that his professional dancer partner Luba was attempting to come up with a dance that would work for him. Revealing he was hoping to find out today if he can dance on Saturday, he concluded: "It's a big day for me. I'm really, really hoping that we find out that I can dance on Saturday. I'd really like to stay part of the competition, so keep your fingers crossed for me."

Nick's fans took to the comment section as they shared their well-wishes for a speedy recovery. One asked: "Could they let you do a Riverdance routine? You'd be able to keep your arms still, then." Another penned: "Best of luck Nick hope you recover soon!" A third commented: "If all else fails bling the sling and get a parrot on your shoulder and be a pirate. Don't you remember the be a pirate for a day back in the day."

"The producers could give you a by yo next week as they have done in previous series [sic]," added another. "Hope you will be able to dance this week. We are all rooting for you," typed another. Nick appeared on the Strictly spin-off show, It Takes Two earlier this week, with his sling, and explained he celebrated his birthday on Saturday with a party. However, after trying to change a tyre on his car en route to the bash, he ended up in agony.

He explained: "It was raining and there were big lorries going past. So I tried to do it quickly", he remembered. "And as I took the tyre off, I basically damaged my bicep and damaged my arm." To top it all off, Nick missed his own party due to the incident. After thanking the two police officers who helped him at the time, Nick gave an update on his health as he said: "I'm hopeful. I'll find out more tomorrow but I'm fully expecting to go into training and I'm really hopeful I'll be dancing on Saturday." Luba, on the other hand, said she would "work around it".

Meanwhile, Nick's fiancée, 33-year-old Katie Dadzee, has said the presenter is a "shell of man" since joining Strictly.
