A person has died at after an incident at a gym, which saw staff using an emergency red help point to try and assist them.
It is not clear if the person was working out at the time of the incident or was using the facilities at the PureGym at the Gallagher Retail Park, in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset when they took ill yesterday morning. Emergency services were called and were quickly at the scene.
Despite their best efforts the gym goer was pronounced dead at the scene. The gym was closed on Wednesday following the incident. A spokeswoman has confirmed that it has since reopened.

A PureGym spokesperson said: "We can confirm that very sadly a member died at PureGym Weston-Super-Mare yesterday morning. Our gym team and other members promptly assisted the individual, using our emergency red help point to call for further assistance.
"Paramedics arrived swiftly, but despite their best efforts the member sadly passed away. We extend our sincere condolences to their family and friends."
