“This has been a big dream for such a long time, and I’m here. I’m here!” Maya gushed, before judge encouraged: “Well listen, you look excited and raring to go so we wish you the best of luck.”

Maya caught the audience’s attention from her first note, belting out the song perfectly as she showcased her incredible talent.
Even before the backing track came to an end couldn’t resist reaching over and hitting the Golden Buzzer, sending Maya straight through to the semi-finals.
Maya received a standing ovation, with her parents in tears as she crouched on stage and covered her face with her hands. She then jumped up as star Bruno ran up to her to give her a hug.
“This was the most mature, accomplished version of this song that I’ve heard from someone so young. The depth of tone, the feeling was totally real. You killed it,” he praised.

There might be a reason for Maya’s confidence on stage at such a young age, with the teen having featured in the ‘Got Talent’ circuit before her appearance on the British original.
Last year, 13-year-old Maya appeared on Romania’s Got Talent, and received a standing ovation for her rendition of Whitney Houston’s hit song ‘I Have Nothing’. According to her page, the up-and-coming singer has also appeared in other competitions and festivals.
One fan on X, formerly known as , recognised the singer, and penned: "Mia Giotea is the sort of act that deserves a golden buzzer. I am delighted for her. I remember seeing her singing Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing on Romania's Got Talent. Outstanding."
