On the morning of September 24, his body was suddenly found in the courtyard of his house. This incident created panic in the entire area and the police was informed.

The news of finding the body was immediately given to Raja's father Sunil Basak, who lived in Delhi. When the family reached Katihar from Delhi, there was mourning in the house due to Raja's death. When Raja's family inquired from the people around, it was revealed that Raja was in love with the daughter of Kinkar Pramanik, a resident of a nearby village. Due to this love affair, there was tension between the two families for some time, which finally turned into this tragic incident.

During the investigation, it was also revealed that Raja was beaten up before he was killed. On the evening of September 23, Raja had an argument with Kinkar Pramanik and his daughter. People around saw that Kinkar Pramanik and his relatives beat Raja. This quarrel was over a love affair, due to which there was tension between the two families. The next day, on September 24, Raja's body was found in the courtyard of the house. The police sent the body for post-mortem and have started investigating the case.

Father accused of murder

Raja's father Sunil Basak has alleged that his son was murdered because of this love affair. He has directly blamed Kinkar Pramanik and his family for this murder. He says that Pramanik's family was not happy with the love affair between Raja and Pramanik's daughter, so they together killed Raja. The police have registered a case on the complaint of Raja's father and a forensic team has also been called for investigation.
