Google Meet is rolling out a new call screen interface for all users. The change was first introduced last year but was only available for enterprise accounts. The new call screen will have a search bar at the top, as well as contact suggestions. Google recently introduced AI features for Meet that prepare notes after the meeting.
New call interface for Google Meet users
The new interface for calls on Google Meet has started rolling out to users on Android. Along with the new pill-shaped search bar, larger buttons for creating and scheduling meetings and creating groups have also been redesigned. Apart from this, Google Meet will now also give users suggestions for calls in a grid.
According to Google, these suggestions are based on their interactions, such as starred contacts or recently sent emails. Along with the new UI, Google has also introduced a new home screen shortcut, which can be used to start a meeting by entering a code. It appears as a "Code" option, which users can tap to enter the meeting code and start it.
These changes are part of the Google Meet 266 update that is available for download. The new interface has not been spotted on iOS yet. Google has introduced several new features for its virtual meeting platform in recent months.
