Musheer and his family belong to Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, where his village Basupar is located in Sagarhi tehsil.

Mushir Khan performed brilliantly during his debut in the 2024 Duleep Trophy. He played a brilliant innings of 181 runs while playing for India-B against India-A. In this innings, he faced 373 balls and hit 16 fours and 5 sixes. This was the third-highest score by any teenager (player under 20 years of age) on debut in the Duleep Trophy. With this innings, he also surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's 159 runs scored on his 1991 Duleep Trophy debut. Baba Aparajit (212 runs) and Yash Dhul (193 runs) are at the top in this case.

He scored 360 runs in 7 matches at an average of 60 in this tournament, and also took 7 wickets. 19-year-old Musheer is considered to be the future big star of Indian cricket.
