Mumbai: On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, Maharashtra witnessed its first-ever women-led ‘Sindoor Yatra’ to honour the bravery of the Indian Army. The procession began at 4:30 PM from Mani Bhavan, Gamdevi, Mumbai. The event was led by Veermata Anuradha Tai Gore and Dr. Manju Lodha.
More than 1,500 women participated the in the yatra, including wives and families of martyred soldiers, veterans, social workers, actresses from the Marathi film industry, and other guests.

The yatra dedicated to the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, a counter-terrorism mission launched after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. In response, the Army carried out precise strikes on terrorist camps located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan.
The ‘Sindoor Yatra’ was organized by women to honour and express solidarity with this courageous operation. It aims to spread a message of patriotism, social awareness, and gratitude to the Army.
