Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh's largest government hospital, Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital (MY Hospital), is set to upgrade its private rooms with modern, premium facilities.
In a meeting of the medical college's executive council held on Saturday, it was decided that initially, 10 private rooms will be revamped to match the standards of private hospitals. If successful, the model will be extended to other rooms in the hospital.
Dean of the medical college, Dr Arvind Ghanghoria, stated that these 10 rooms will be equipped with top-class amenities such as false ceilings, high-quality tiles, vibrant wall paints, refrigerators, smart LED TVs, air conditioners, and fully equipped modern bathrooms.
In addition, the rooms will feature clean bed linens, door mats, dustbins, decorated walls, modular beds and dining tables, LED lighting, 24x7 patient monitoring, and arrangements for attendants. Facilities like towels, napkins, comfortable seating (sofas), wardrobes, art décor, and drinking water will also be included — all at a nominal charge.
While similar amenities in private hospitals come at a hefty cost, the upgraded private rooms at MY Hospital will remain highly affordable. Currently, private rooms in MY Hospital cost around Rs 1,000, and the revised pricing is expected to remain only slightly higher.
He further added that no patient should feel like they are in a government facility, they should leave with good memories and confidence in the care they received.
