Bihar Election 2025 voter turnout: 14.55% recorded by 9 am as final phase underway

Bihar Election Phase 2 Voting: Voting for the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections began on Tuesday morning across 122 constituencies amid tight security arrangements. By 9 am, the state recorded a voter turnout of 14.55%, as polling continued smoothly across districts.

According to the Election Commission, several districts reported voter enthusiasm right from the start. Gaya saw the highest turnout so far at 15.97%, followed by Kishanganj (15.81%), Jamui (15.77%), and Aurangabad (15.43%). Meanwhile, Bhagalpur (13.43%), Katihar (13.77%), and Jahanabad (13.81%) witnessed relatively lower participation in the early hours.

Bihar Final Phase of High-Stakes Contest
This marks the final phase of polling in the high-stakes Bihar Assembly elections. Over 1,302 candidates are in the fray, including several ministers from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government.

The Election Commission has deployed heavy security to ensure peaceful voting across all constituencies. Polling began at 7 am and will continue till 5 pm.

The first phase of the Bihar polls had witnessed an impressive 65% voter turnout, the highest ever in the state’s electoral history.

Once voting concludes today, all eyes will be on November 14, when counting begins and the final verdict of the people of Bihar will be revealed.
