With Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi set to be sworn-in as Delhi's new Chief Minister on September 21, a cabinet rejig has also been announced by the party on Thursday.
The Arvind Kejriwal-led party has named Mukesh Ahlawat, MLA from Sultan Pur Majra, as part of the new cabinet.
Meanwhile, Ministers Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Imran Hussain who currently handle Environment, Finance, Health and Food respectively, have been retained in the new cabinet.
The Delhi government has seven members in its Cabinet, including the chief minister and the name of the seventh member is yet to be determined.
It is uncertain at the moment, whether or not the above said ministers will retain their portfolios.
Initially, the ruling party in the national capital had decided that only Atishi would be sworn in, however, it was later said that her council of ministers would also take the oath.
Earlier this week, Arvind Kejriwal resigned as the Delhi chief minister, after which Atishi staked claim to form a new government in Delhi.
Atishi & Co's tenure will be a short one as Delhi assembly polls are due in February 2025.
