Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have had a poor campaign in the so far. After beating MI in their first match of the season, CSK have lost four matches since then. While wins and losses are a part of the game, the way CSK have lost their matches has been unlike them. Most of the batters have not shown enough intent to chase down big totals, which has hurt CSK big time.
The five-time champions appear to be highly dependent on the performances of a few individuals. Despite giving them enough chances, they have not been up to the mark. CSK do not have a lot of players in their squad who might make a huge impact on the side. However, they do have some players who could be given chances as a part of future investment.

3 changes CSK should make to get back on track in the IPL 2025 - 3. Replace Mukesh Choudhary with Gurjapneet SinghMukesh Choudhary has been unfortunately ineffective in the ongoing season of the IPL. The left-arm pacer hasn't been able to pick a lot of wickets with the new ball, which has enabled the opposition batters to score runs even after the loss of early wickets. Given his form and rhythm, there might be a need for a change.
CSK has some good bowlers in their squad. There is Gurjapneet Singh who bowled well for Tamil Nadu before the start of the IPL season. The left-arm pacer is tall and can operate at a good pace apart from extracting a bit of extra bounce from the surface. He could bring the much-needed pace at the top for the five-time champions.
2. Replace Ravichandran Ashwin with Shreyas Gopal
Ravichandran Ashwin has done a decent job in the IPL 2025. However, given where CSK play, a better pick over Ashwin would be Shreyas Gopal, considering Ashwin might not be needed to add some runs as a batter. Gopal with his leg spin can be a wicket-taking option which CSK lack in the middle overs phase currently.
Both Ashwin and Jadeja haven't been able to pick as many wickets as one would have loved. With Noor Ahmad having a good impact from his end, Gopal with his traditional leg spin might work as a good option for CSK. If needed, the Karnataka spinner could also add some runs lower down the order.

1. Replace Vijay Shankar with Shaik RasheedVijay Shankar replaced Deepak Hooda in the lineup, which hasn't been highly effective. While the experienced batter hasn't got a lot of chances to prove himself, it would be worth giving a younger player like Shaik Rasheed a chance, who did well for India in the U19 World Cup campaign in 2022.
The 20-year-old is an anchor by nature. However, if needed, he can step up and score runs at a brisk rate. A clear message from the management could help the youngster a lot. While Shankar scored a fifty against DC, his knock did not have enough intent and impact. Rasheed might come as a surprise for the opponents if he gets going.
