Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], October 30 (ANI): On the occasion of Deepawali, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami purchased diyas and other items from local artisans and made digital payment.
He said that after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Vocal for Local" initiative, the campaign to purchase local products across the country is getting support from the people and their demand has increased.
"With the initiative of PM Modi, the products of our artisans are gaining a new identity today. Lakhs of such artisans are making a new identity today. This provides jobs to lakhs of people. PM has taken a resolution to promote local products. So, it inspires us all in that direction," he said.
PM Modi has been urging people to celebrate India's entrepreneurial and creative spirit by supporting the local talent. .
NITI Aayog launched the 'Vocal for Local' initiative under its Aspirational Blocks Programme in March this year. (ANI)
