Wayanad (Kerala) [India], November 8 (ANI): Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party accusing it of inciting division, spreading hatred, anger, and mistrust.
In a post on X, she shared one of her speeches in which she said that the BJP benefits by creating a rift in society.
Priyanka Gandhi said, "Love, peace, and brotherhood don't suit the BJP because their politics is not about the people, development, or a better future for all. It's about division, spreading hate, anger, and mistrust and fear among people."
"Every leader of the BJP benefits from this division. This kind of politics keeps people behind and doesn't allow them to flourish. It allows leaders of BJP to believe that they are no longer answerable to the people and finding resolution to problems," she added.
The Congress candidate for Wayanad by-polls further alleged that the BJP believes that "as long as they keep people divided they can stay in power."
"That is the politics that we have to change today. There is nothing more that is required in the country today than progress and development. Nothing more than politics that focuses on people and their problems, on how to resolve them, how to support people to move forward. Just like a family that does not need anger, hatred and fighting not as a society nor does a nation," she added.
"Let's stand together with pro-people politics of progress and development - the politics that focuses on you, your problems, and how to move forward," she further stated.
Wayanad, a Congress stronghold, will see a contest between Priyanka Gandhi of Congress, Navya Haridas of the BJP, and Sathyan Mokeri of the Left in the upcoming by-polls.
The election was necessitated after Rahul Gandhi vacated the seat, choosing to retain Rae Bareli following his victory in both constituencies in the general elections earlier this year. The by-election for the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency is scheduled for November 13. (ANI)
