If you're dreaming of a bank job, learn everything from application to selection. Today, we're going to explain the criteria for bank recruitment.
If you're preparing for a government job and want to pursue a career in the banking sector, this news is for you. A bank job not only offers a stable future but also offers respect and a good salary. Every year, millions of candidates apply for bank exams, but many are unaware of the recruitment process, the positions available, and the qualifications required.
In India, there are two types of bank jobs: government and private. Recruitment to government banks is primarily conducted through the IBPS, SBI, and RBI. These institutions recruit for positions such as clerks, probationary officers (POs), specialist officers (SOs), and grade B officers. A clerk position requires a bachelor's degree in any subject, while a postgraduate degree or postgraduate degree is requires for a postgraduate position. Specialist officers require specialized skills in subjects like IT, HR, marketing, or law, while RBI Grade B requires graduation with at least 60% marks.
How is selection done?
The age limit for a clerk should be 20 to 28 years, for a postgraduate position, 20 to 30 years, and for RBI Grade B, 21 to 30 years. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per government rules. The selection process is conducted in three stages: a preliminary exam, a main exam, and an interview. The first stage includes questions on reasoning, English, and math, while the main exam includes questions on general awareness, computer, and banking knowledge. Final selection is then made through an interview.
Good salary?
The banking sector offers a salary along with several perks, such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance, medical care, pension, and bonuses. A bank PO's starting salary is approximately ₹60,000 per month, while a clerk earns around ₹40,000.
How to prepare?
Taking mock tests daily, practicing reasoning and math, and focusing on current affairs and banking awareness are essential for exam preparation. Solving past question papers and focusing on time management are also keys to success.
