A family have shown off their new home after carrying out the work themselves on a dramatic transformation.

House renovations are not easy but the end results can be truly rewarding, as demonstrated by a family who has gained popularity on TikTok after undertaking an impressive renovation project on the "worst house on the street". In a post shared with their 148,000 followers, the user @ourcrescenthome revealed the home's original state before the renovation began.

The caption read: "We bought the worst house on the street, everyone said we were crazy. But it turns out, they were right... We are crazy. We took that house, tore it all apart, plank by plank, brick by brick." The family explained how they opened up the space to let in natural light and then rebuilt the home, investing countless hours of hard work, including evenings and weekends. However, their efforts are finally paying off, and they can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Meanwhile, a third joined in the chorus of praise saying: "I've literally never been so proud of strangers, so well done to you both! Congrats!
