Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder are back with a bang as they join forces for a second series of their BBC travelogue series.

Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour aired earlier this year and saw the two jet off to Italy for a big adventure. Now the duo are back on the road and this time after spending months in talks mulling over destinations including Greece, Spain and France.

However, reports have now confirmed the new run of episodes will see them head east in a series named A Passage To India - after the 1924 novel by E.M. Forster. An insider said: “It took a long time to decide where to send Rob and Rylan after their first series — a hard act to follow. But series two will see them travelling across India to experience its unique culture, architecture and art.

Talking to The Sun they added: “It’s going to be as action- packed as the first series, if not more, and being so far away from home will no doubt see Rob and Rylan experience plenty of firsts.” The first series was so popular with fans that producers couldn't wait to get things rolling for a second season.

A source added that “The team behind the show didn’t want to take a gap year before starting work again," and that "Rob and Rylan wanted to hit the road.” The news comes after Rob said it's his own fault that the public have been left convinced he's secretly dating Rylan. The 46-year-old TV judge charmed audiences alongside 35-year-old former X Factor contestant Rylan when they co-hosted the BBC travel show.

While the pair marvelled at the architecture, scenery, food and delights of Italy, they also opened up to each other and shared touching stories about their own lives. As the show progressed, viewers watched as Rob and Rylan formed a strong friendship. Some fans, however, began to assume question if the pair could become more than just friends. And Rob fuelled this fantasy when he posted a message online to Rylan, quoting the classic poet whose footsteps they followed.

The legal expert wrote: ‘“Friendship may, and often does, grow into love.” Byron…’ Now Rob admits he may have led his fans on a little too much. Asked by Metro if he regretted creating an illusion of romance, and if he was frustrated fans had jumped to the wrong conclusion, he said: "No, it’s not frustrating. It’s funny. It’s also my fault. It was my bloody fault. He’s really social media savvy.

"You realise on social media what little ear people have for any kind of semblance of irony at all. The next thing, all of a sudden, my mum and his mum are buying hats. We’re like, 'Wait a minute!' But as he rightly puts, we are basically married. We row all the time and don’t have sex."

Speaking fondly about his friendship with Rylan on the Great Company with Jamie Laing podcast, the former barrister previously said: "Real friendship is not the people who'll be there in the middle of the night, I mean the emergency services will do that for you. And then the friends like Rylan who are there when things go really well, who can you telephone that's going to sit alongside you and celebrate with unfettered joy. That's who your mates are, right?"
