Pep Guardiola's furious reaction spotted after controversy in Man City vs Arsenal clash

Pep Guardiola was left so angry with Arsenal's equaliser vs Manchester City that he KICKED his seat.

City had taken the lead through Erling Haaland but were soon pegged back through Riccardo Calafiori's stunning hit from distance. It had come from Arsenal being awarded a clean free kick from inside their own half.

The ball made its way down the left flank, with Italian international Riccardo Calafiori curling home a brilliant effort. And the goal triggered a furious reaction from Guardiola, as he angrily kicked his own seat, while Ederson also received a booking for his protests.

Kyle Walker also led the complaints and claimed that he was not in position when the free-kick was taken. Speaking about the incident, Gary Neville said: "We're hearing the problem City have is that the free-kick was taken 10 yards away from where the actual foul was."

He added: "They're complaining the free-kick is taken before Walker can get back to his spot. We also think it was taken away from where it was awarded. That's why City are annoyed.

"[Walker is saying to the ref] 'You pulled me out of position and you've not let me get back'. I'd be annoyed."

Speaking later in the coverage, Neville's punditry colleague Jamie Carragher also offered his view. He said: "You can totally understand, Kyle Walker and Pep Guardiola screaming at each other as the ball went back to the centre-circle. I don't know if he was saying get away from the referee now so you don't get yourself booked.

The goal was just one of a number of incidents in an eye-catching first half at the Etihad. There was a bizarre collision between both Rodri and Kai Havertz in the opening minute.

The Spanish midfielder went down clutching his face after just four seconds and needed medical treatment. Fortunately, he was okay and the game resumed after a couple of minutes.

Erling Haaland then gave City the lead with a clinical finish. But Rodri was then at the heart of things again just minutes later.

As the hosts attempted to double their lead from a corner, the Spanish midfielder landed awkwardly and went down clutching his knee. The medical staff were introduced once more, with Pep Guardiola forced to replace his compatriot with Mateo Kovacic.
