MAFS UK's Paul Brunson was groped on a train in front of his wife and children

Married at First Sight UK expert Paul Brunson revealed he was once groped on a train in front of his wife and children.

The 50-year-old relationship expert, who hails from the US, recalled the uncomfortable incident in a new interview, as he said he was targeted by a group of five women who recognised him from the E4 show. Paul, who also serves as a relationship expert on Celebs Go Dating, was horrified as he was groped in front of his wife Jill, who managed to avoid a confrontation with the women.

“We were getting off the train, my boys got off first and then it was me and my wife was behind,” he told the Daily Mail. “There were five women coming onto the train and they saw me and as I was getting off, they grabbed my butt. My wife was so classy, she looked at them and smiled.” Paul admitted that many fans of MAFS UK try to “test the line”, but even though he removed himself from the situation, he was upset his wife had been forced to see it. “It was unacceptable,” he fumed.

While he’s no stranger to attention from fans of the dating show, Paul confessed he has received direct messages on social media from women who have sent him “graphic photos” as well as “requests”. However, he’s managed to brush off the adoring fans, and admitted his wife Jill, who he’s been married to for 23 years, now finds them funny. “My wife Jill saw an article that came out saying, ‘fans lust after delicious relationship guru’ and she said, ‘ooh, I get to be with the delicious dating guru tonight’, she has a fun time with it, but it is one of those where I blush.”

Paul’s bad experience with an over-enthusiastic fan hasn’t stopped him from appreciating the attention he gets, and he said he’s grateful for the praise he receives. “I still appreciate the love I get when I'm out and about,” he added.

The relationship expert, who also works at dating app Tinder, spoke about the effect he has on viewers in an interview with Capital earlier this week, and said one of the reasons he enjoys MAFS UK is because he knows he’s helping viewers at home. “One of the most challenging aspects to me, but one of the most rewarding is when we’re giving advice to the couple on the couch, but I know there are millions of people at home that don’t have access to therapy and this may be the only opportunity that they get. To me, that’s also a part of the success,” he explained.
